I think it took awhile for the waitress to warm up to us. We eventually got Good service and good food. We LOVE the taco truck on Chase and the restaurant on Burnham. The tacos here weren't quite as great but still good. The quesadillas and salsa are just as fantastic!

I think the decor is simple. Which I love! Food is fantastic and the service is always wonderful! This is a must eat Mexican restaurant!!!

This is the same Buenavista Mexican restaurant with the food trucks around town that the greater Milwaukee area has been enjoying for years and an expansion of the business with a larger location. The new location is next to the AMF with a restaurant and banquet hall that seats up to 250 people, the restaurant seats about 70. The place it self looks clean and new with murals on the walls, a flat screen, faux wood floors and cheap looking/better looking cafeteria style tables/chairs.
The menu has all the standard Mexican fare with breakfast to dinners and ala cart items. Not knowing that this was the Buenavista that I was already familiar with I ordered the steak burrito ala cart for $5.50 which is the truck price and seemed like an error but I forked over $6 and left with take out because it was going to be dinner later.
After I did some research when I got home I realized that this was not a new find and just a new location, I have had some great new finds lately with Mexican food so I was psyched but it ended up being my most go to local Mexican stop in a new location which is not bad because the nachos are so satisfying.
The steak burrito came with three tubs of sauce with the neon green the hottest, the green pepper more mild and the red some salsa like thing and the least liked flavor wise for me. The steak burrito it self was my old friend that I find tasty, not super huge or small but just right for me.
Well I'm going to add them to yelp since this location has no yelp presence after a and leave a review even though it's just a new location, my go to location is much closer ( the truck ) and will continue to be my burrito/nachos convenient spot. -

Only gave 3 stars due to the service. We came here because I love the food trucks & the other locations, so I figured I'd give this location a try. I walked in with my daughters & the 2 waitresses looked at us. I wasn't sure if we should sit ourself or wait to be seated, so I opted to wait. I had to ask the young lady if we sit ourselves to which she replied "I'll be with you in a second." She finished what she was doing & then took 4 steps & pointed to a table where we could sit. She was much more welcoming to the group of gentlemen that came in after us, so much so that she took their order before she asked us if we were ready to order.
I asked if they had a children's menu to which she replied just chicken tenders & fries."
So, we ordered. Eventually got chips & salsa. Got 2 waters instead of 3 because I guess a toddler doesn't warrant a cup of water. After waiting for a while, I asked about the guac I ordered to be informed that there was a party on the other side, meanwhile the food that the 3 gentlemen that came in after us ordered was dropped off piping hot to them!
Not sure if the girl perfers waiting on guys but she CLEARLY needs a crash course in SERVICE 101. There's better service at their taco truck than here!! -

This is a newer location that the just purchased after moving from 35th and Forest Home Av. The inside is pretty big, they have a bar that is open until midnight and a beautiful rentable banquet hall. I've eaten at their other locations and I have to tell you that the food did not miss the mark with the new place! Of this is why we go to restaurants, to eat good food! As always Buenavista is a family restaurant run and operated by the owners family. Everyone is super kind, helpful and attentive to the customers and their needs!
